Gather owners Jonathan Martin of Black Oak Art and Sara Martin of Kindred Event Studio both graduated from Baylor in the early 2000s.

"After a brief period of living in Southern California, we realized that Waco was where we wanted to call home.

In an effort to add beauty to everyday life, Jonathan has long been crafting pieces of pottery with attention to both form and function.  A car-ride conversation in 2015 led us to the realization that Black Oak’s functional art and Kindred’s passion for entertaining fit together perfectly. 

Gather is a collaboration of our passions: the Art of Hospitality.  We have a vision to inspire and enjoy the beautiful life.  Through our partnerships with local artists, we offer carefully curated items for hosting and entertaining at home.  We hope our unique selection of functional art will help you create a space you love--whether that be limited to one room or your entire house. 

But Gather is more than just a store; our space is a place to celebrate community and share life with others.  At Gather our aim is to help you better share life with people, and we can’t wait to share that art with you."
